To one and all, I wish you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving.

In light of the current changes going on in our country, and the direction it’s attempting to be taken by the extreme left – I’d like to opportunity to remind everyone of the real story of Thanksgiving. It was America’s first attempt at socialism… and like every other attempt that has been made around the world, it was a miserable failure.

The colonists did not have a bountiful harvest, as the tale generally goes. In fact, they starved. In the beginning, all goods, farming, etc. produced were pooled together and placed in common stock. A person was to put into the common stock all he could, and take out only what he needed.

The problem with that (aside from the rampant theft), is that others just decided to take more than what they put in (or didn’t put anything at all back in the pool, and just lived off the labor of the rest.)

After a couple years, William Bradford (colony governor), abolished this collective socialist system. He assigned each household a parcel of land, and told them each could keep what they produced, or sell/trade their goods. He effectively induced capitalism into the colony, and the following harvest was bountiful. They had huge surplus of food and goods, and prospered greatly. It’s a shining example to the failure of socialism, and how to fix poverty – inject capitalism into the equation.

For more information on what really happened to the early colonist of this nation, just google the keywords “real story of thanksgiving socialism“; there are plenty of articles on the history there.

And to all of you idiots in Washington -> you cannot grow an economy by increasing the government and trashing the private sector. The private sector is what keeps this country running: LEAVE IT ALONE!
