Hypocrite Anti-Gun Senator Shoots intruder at home

January 24th, 2010 2 comments

From AP, via the Richmond Times Dispatch:

TABOR CITY, N.C.  — A sheriff says a North Carolina state senator shot one of two intruders at his home and hospital officials say the man is in fair condition.

Multiple media outlets reported that Columbus County Sheriff Chris Batten said that 74-year-old Sen. R.C. Soles of Tabor City shot Kyle Blackburn late Sunday afternoon.

A spokeswoman at Loris Community Hospital in South Carolina said Monday that Blackburn was in fair condition.

Batten says the shooting occurred when two men went to the senator’s house and tried to kick in his front door. No charges have been filed.

The sheriff’s office said the State Bureau of Investigation was handling the case. A call to an agency spokeswoman was not immediately returned. There was no answer at a number listed for Soles’ home.

The Democrat has been in the Senate 32 years.

Long time Anti-Gun Advocate State Senator R.C. Soles, 74, shot one of two intruders at his home just outside Tabor City, N.C. about 5 p.m. Sunday, the prosecutor for the politician’s home county said.

The victim, Kyle Blackburn, was taken to a South Carolina hospital, but the injuries were not reported to be life-threatening, according to Rex Gore, district attorney for Columbus, Bladen and Brunswick counties…

The State Bureau of Investigation and Columbus County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the shooting, Gore said. Soles, who was not arrested, declined to discuss the incident Sunday evening.

“I am not in a position to talk to you,” Soles said by telephone. “I’m right in the middle of an investigation.”

The Senator, who has made a career of being against gun ownership for the general public, didn’t hesitate to defend himself with his own gun when he believed he was in immediate danger and he was the victim.

In typical hypocritical liberal fashion, the “Do As I Say And Not As I Do” Anti-Gun Activist Lawmaker picked up his gun and took action in what apparently was a self-defense shooting. Why hypocritical you may ask? It is because his long legislative record shows that the actions that he took to protect his family, his own response to a dangerous life threatening situation, are actions that he feels ordinary citizens should not have if they were faced with an identical situation.

It has prompted some to ask if the Senator believes his life and personal safety is more valuable than yours or mine.
But, this is to be expected from those who believe they can run our lives, raise our kids, and protect our families better than we can.

I'll drink to that!!

Perfect timing for a playoff Sunday.  Not the team I was hoping would be there, mind you, but hey… just another excuse to drink a beer! :D

Crack open a cold one, guys… it’s a day of celebration!!  Yes indeed, 75 years ago today a New Jersey brewing company churned out the world’s first beer can in 1935.  Read all about it here…

Having a 'wicked' good time!

January 16th, 2010 No comments

So yeah, i’ve been busy lately, haven’t been posting.  I’m up in New Hampshire, doing electrical/plumbing/HVAC projects on a house my friend’s sister bought.

I do have a laptop, and 3G connectivity on the ‘Now Network’, but it’s doubtful I’ll be making any blogging posts for another the next week or so, though there might be an occasional random thought or mobile picture upload from my phone.

I’m out in south-east New Hampshire, very close to the shore, near Massachusetts, and literally on the border with Maine.

It’s very beautiful out here, but if one more damned New Englander says ‘wicked’ to me, I’m gonna smite ‘em!

Your tax dollars hard at work…

January 4th, 2010 No comments

More of your tax dollars at work… NPR airs anti-tea party animation, using sexual explicit “tea bag” phrase to degrade honest American citizens holding a peaceful civil protest of government spending.

New Animation: ‘Learn to Speak Teabag’

We should hold another protest over spending on partisan liberal radio broadcasts!
